The picture "Le Boulevard Montmartre, matin d`hiver" shows the boulevard Montmartre in Paris. The painting was painted by Camille Pissarro in 1897. It is part of a series that consists of 14 paintings depicting the Parisian boulevard Montmartre in different seasons and in varying degrees of light. Today it hangs in New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art. The picture shows the view from the window of his room in the then Grand Hotel where Pissarro lived.
