The light-flooded picture "Kite flying" is a painting by Carl Spitzweg. Scene of the scene is the Theresienwiese in front of Munich. You can see the skyline of Munich in the background. Due to the unusual format and the fact that most of the painting is heaven, the sky appears infinite and a yearning for lightness arises at the sight of the painting. In the lower third of the picture you can see three children in the foreground in a green and brown meadow - the first boy looks at his dragon, the second has his kite under his arm, while a girl with her doll stands with her back to the viewer. In the background you can see more people in the meadow. Benedikt Erenz said that it is one of Spitzweg's most beautiful pictures because Spitzweg releases the colors and lets them tell their own story. He thereby made a quite incidental scene for the eternal childhood moment.
