Ferdinand Victor Eugene Delacroix, born in Paris in 1798, began his creative work with detailed representations of some dramatic themes. Probably his greatest fame was his painting "Freedom leads the people", which can be found as a quasi label of the French Revolution in every history book. He won fame and honor. He traveled to Morocco, where he experienced first-hand impressions of this, in his time exotic, alien world. His bulging sketchbook was to him a perpetual source of inspiration. But the strict, realistic reproduction was no longer his "thing". His works are getting more intense colors from now on. The brushwork is now more the vibration of the subject again. More profound statements come to fruition. Delacroix is ??considered a trailblazer of Impressionism, and the image of the tiger turtle is a prime example of this.

Nice color scheme. The coat looks a little too reddish, but the overall impression is consistent.
(Machine translation) Original comment: Schöne Farbgebung. Das Fell wirkt ein wenig zu rötlich, aber der Gesamteindruck ist stimmig. |
