Joseph Mallord William Turner was inspired by his travels, which is why most of his works show landscapes and seascapes. This includes Fishermen at Sea, a very impressive picture. It shows a small boat through which the fragility of human life is portrayed and the sublime power of nature, through the dark cloudy sky, the wide sea and the threatening rocks in the background of the painting. The cold light of the moon contrasts with the warm glow of the fisherman's lantern.
