Canvas Frames and Stretch Types

The canvas frame is the frame that the canvas is stretched over. However, since the frame has a certain depth, this immediately reveals a problem: From one side you will, if the picture isn't framed, see a wide strip of unprinted canvas. This can sometimes look rather ugly, which is why we offer you four possible frames that try to solve this problem:

The motif frame is only recommended for larger paintings because here a part of the painting is basically stretched over the frame. In case of landscape paintings, this can be a very elegant solution, while in smaller or very detail-rich paintings, too much of the motif might get lost. The mirror frame on the other hand mirrors the painting to the frame along its edge. The frame therefore matches the painting optically, but doesn't take away part of the motif from a frontal viewpoint. However, if you prefer things to be simple and basic, then you can choose a simple white or black frame. You can see all four variants displayed below.

Please keep in mind that if you don't choose a frame or canvas frame but order the art print on canvas, then you will receive a printed, rolled-up canvas.
