The title "Schieflage" or "Schiefer Wald" can be understood as a metaphor for the tense situation of nature on our planet Earth.
The forest is no longer in balance, the oceans are out of balance, the meadows and fields are out of balance. Habitats and climate zones are disturbed.
The earth itself may not care. As a material sphere in space, it will not disintegrate because of this. But living creatures such as forests, trees, oceans, animals and humans cannot be indifferent. Yes, here the forest can be seen as more than just a living being.
The challenge will be all the greater if further changes or dissolutions occur in the atmosphere. We are not there yet.
These are some thoughts on the title of the work.
The original is an oil painting on canvas from 2020 measuring 30 x 40 cm and was created in the artist's studio in Berlin-Mitte.
