The Norwegian-Danish painter Peder Severin Kroyer is not least due to his painting "Summer evening at Skagen - the beach walk" in his homeland as one of the great experts. The artist masterfully stages two women from behind in the right-wing scene: both are facing each other, their noble lace robes shining in the setting sun. A wide, fine sandy beach can be seen, on which the viewer seems to walk. Countless footprints are lost in the sand in the distance. Sea and sky are bathed in iridescent, dark shades, the sun has already set. Like a luminous ribbon, the sea curls - a line on which the two ladies leisurely step into the distance. Here an animated conversation between two confidants seems to take place, while the rest of nature radiates calm harmony. The pink and purple light lends something to the scene: a truly impressionistic masterpiece!
